As someone who once had twin kitties named Raistlin and Caramon (and another one named Tasslehoff), I must ask: Have you taken on any of the personality traits of the characters you were named after?

According to Mom, aparrently we have, to a startling degree. When she brought us home from the pound at a young age, the humans were having a hard time telling us apart, despite the obvious signs of intelligence on my face. My brother and I were given different colored collars to tell us apart at first. Highly undignified.

Shortly after being brought "home", I had a bad bout with illness. Grew very dehydrated and almost died. After a crisis trip to the vet's, I was brought home and nursed back to health on antibiotics and baby food. (I STILL don't understand why I'm not still being spoon-fed pureed chicken. I was perfectly used to that treatment.) An unusual side effect of either the illness or medication was that in the next few weeks, while my ever-larger brother's eyes stayed the same yellow-green as when we were adopted, mine turned a distinctly more golden shade. Mom exclaimed loudly over this, for some reason.

As we've grown up, we've put forth our own distinct personalities. I am sleek and svelte, tend to enter rooms with either wise caution or slow nobility, and I tend to be more vocal about intolerable situations, such as not being petted. (Mom calls it "whining". Hmf.) I tend to be the inquisitive and problem-solving one, such as how to open the bathroom drawers to get at interesting things. My brother, on the other hand, is... large. Rotund, even. In the spirit of familial kindness, I'll call him "not terribly bright". He tends to bound into a room, into walls, headfirst into windows and furniture. *sigh* He also tends to eat anything that isn't nailed down and holds still for more than three seconds. While I prefer the quiet dignity of being petted, Caramon enjoys more violent play involving chasing strings and leaping several feet in the air.

Brothers indeed, and yet so different. But I endure.

Oh yes. You sound very much like my Twins (that was me up there, btw). I miss them so. I'm sorry to hear that you had an illness at such an early age, though. My Raistlin had an unfortunate experience with a chemical called cresote as a kitten...we do believe it stunted his growth.

Would you mind very much if I added you to my Friends list?

I would mind not a bit. Friends are always an excellent thing to have, in my opinion!

On behalf of Zoltan the grey, i offer friendly salutations from up north. It appears master Zoltan has taken great affinity to this little section of webspace you and your brother take up. He seems to enjoy the fact that there are other Cats of his Caliber out there sharing their lives. He wishes me to attach you to my friends list until such time that I have the money to get him his own account. If that is alright with you i will go ahead and do so. Though i cannot promise he will always be a gentleman.... He can be rather Unruly at the best of times.

Zoltans Lawyer/feeder/and stinky rock cleaner,
Ling
